Dave Murray refinished it (black) added a white pickguard and first had a H-S-H configuration with Gibson humbuckers in the Bridge and neck position (the bridge HB was angled, like a regular singlecoil) Then he switched to 2x Dimarzio Super Distortion pickups (neck bridge, the bridge pickup still being angled.) After that, he got another pickguard (HSH) , but the bridge HB was "straight", and he got metal mounting rings that he mounted the pickups in (first a 2x Super dist combo, later he replaced the neck super-dist for a Dimarzio PAF humbucker.. That happened before the release of the number of the beast album..) Apparently mr. murray practically went broke to get Kossoff's guitar, but obviously, it worked out in the end..
